Abraham Lemaster (ca. 1638- 1722) was born in Ste. Marie's Parish on the Isle of Jersey to John and Sarah Lemaster. He died in Charles County, Maryland. He was the father of six children. He came to America as a servant to John Smith ca. 1661. Descendants lived mainly in Maryland, Kentucky, South Carolina, Indiana and Texas.

Jan Keppel and his wife Areaantje Pellicon Keppel emigrated from Holland to America in 1847 having been preceded by their son Teunis who had emigrated in 1846. They settled first in Keokuk, Iowa then in 1847 relocated to Holland, Michigan. A year later they returned to Keokuk where they lived until Areaantje died 17 June 1872 and Jan on 8 March 1874.
