Sarah A. Cook, daughter of William Cook and Isabella McElwain, was born in about 1829 in Pennsylvania. She married Joshua Hall. They had seven children. She died in 1881 in Pennsylvania. Her husband moved to California.

John and Polly Thompson Caperton were in Augusta County, Virginia by 1753 and later in Botetourt County, Virginia in 1774. Descendants lived in Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, Virginia West Virginia, and elsewhere.

Joshua Hall, son of William Hall and Mary White, was born in 1826 in Scotland. He married Sarah Cook, daughter of William A. Cook and Isabella McElwain, in 1861 in Pennsylvania. They had seven children. He died in 1895 in Cedarville, California.

William Toney Sr. (ca. 1727-1810) was born in Buckingham County, Virginia and later died in Franklin County, Virginia. His third wife was Margaret Sutherland (ca. 1731-ca. 1812). Descendants lived in throughout the southern United States, Ohio, Oregon, Kansas, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Indiana, and elsewhere.
