Henry Crane (ca.1635-1711) and Benjamin Crane (ca.1630-1691), brothers (according to the author), emigrated from England to Wethersfield, Connecticut during or before 1655 (possibly Benjamin had been in Massachusetts earlier). Their father was probably John Crane (fl.1637-1642) of the "Muddy Brook" section of Boston now known as Brookline. Henry married Concurrence Meigs about 1663 and made several moves, but maintained a residence at Guilford, Conn....

Zenos Erol Smith, son of William Smith (1864-1922) and Ora Dell Williams (1870-1962), was born 11 May 1892 in Adams City, Ohio. He married Florence Higgins ((1898-1992), daughter of Frank Higgins (1861-1951) and Catherine McCormick (1872-1902). Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Ohio, Illinois, Ireland, Italy and Bohemia.

Joseph Smith Harris (b.1836), direct descendant in the fourth generation, married Delia Silliman Brodhead, and also lived in Chester County. Ancestors of Joseph and Delia lived in Pennsylvania, New York, New England and elsewhere. Many ancestors lived in Ireland, England and elsewhere.
