Justus Akin was born 10 March 1756 in Dutchess County, New York. His parents were David Akin, Jr. and Deborah Gray. He married Elizabeth Briggs in 1781. They had one daughter, Almy. He married Mary Cory in about 1787 and they had four children. He died in 1836 in Jackson, New York. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived in New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Connecticut, Ohio, California, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa and elsewhere.

Sergeant Thomas Foster (ca 1600-1682) and his brother, William came to America in 1634. He and his wife, Elizabeth settled in Weymouth, Massachusettes about 1640, but later moved to Braintree and then to Billerica where he died. One descendant was David Foster, Sr. (1758- 1821). Descendants lived in Massachusetts, New York, Michigan, Missouri, Wisconsin, Kansas, Illinois, New Mexico, California, Canada and elsewhere.

Nathan Lord (d.ca.1690/1691) emigrated from Kent County, England to Kittery, Maine during or before 1652, and married twice. Descendants and relatives lived in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, New York, Washington, D.C., Ohio, Kentucky, Minnesota and elsewhere. Includes some ancestry and genealogical data in England, Scotland, France and elsewhere.
