Howell Gilliam Trodgon was born in 1840 in Cedar Falls, North Carolina. He served in the Union Army, Company B, 8th Missouri Infantry, 1861-1864. He reenlisted 1865-1866 and served in Company K, 8th US Veteran Volunteers. He was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his services. Charles Booth (d.1821) moved from Pennsylvania to Cabell County, Virginia (now West Virginia), and served in the Revolutionary War. Samuel Spurlock Booth (ca.1854-1934), his grandson, married Emily Wellman in 1873, and lived in Wayne County, West Virginia. Descendants lived in West Virginia, Missouri, Michigan, Maryland and elsewhere.
