John Pickerell (ca. 1750-ca. 1829) was probably born in England and married Catherine Wierman (1754-1838) in 1771 in Guilford County, North Carolina. They moved to Grayson (Carroll) County, Virginia, Tennessee, and finally Logan County, Ohio. Descendants lived in Ohio, Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois, Indiana, Oklahoma, California, Colorado, and elsewhere. Some descendants changed their name to "Pickrell".

Jacob Miller (1697-1772), his wife, Catherine Charlotte (1699-1777), and their oldest son, emigrated from Germany in 1732 and settled in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Jacob and Catherine had ten children but six probably died young. The four known children were born 1728-1743. Their son, Matthias Miller (1743-1805), married four times and was the father of seventeen children. He served as a private in the Pennsylvania Militia in the Revolutionary War....

Thomas Meredith immigrated from Wales via England to Kent County, Va. in 1637. His son, James Meredith (1762-1840) was a Revolutionary War veteran, who married Maricha Hooper (ca. 1776-1852) in 1792.
