John Lindsay married Elizabeth Shanks in Liverpool, Lancashire, England. They became converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and immigrated in 1851 to St. Louis, Missouri, where she died. In 1859, he and the children moved to Taylorsville, Salt Lake Co., Utah. He died 1859.
