William Tyson (1778-1835) was born in Pitt Co., N.C. to Jehu Tyson and Mildred Moye. He died in Ansonville, Anson Co., N.C. He married Emeline B. "Penelope" Dixon (1787-1864) 1803 in North Carolina. She was born in Virginia and died in Villa Rica, Carroll Co., Georgia. They had eleven children. Descendants live in North Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, Texas, Arkansas and elsewhere.
