A biographical story of three country doctors who lived and practiced during the last half of the nineteenth century in Cass and Carroll Counties in Indiana. The three country doctors were of James Clement Loop and two of his sons William M. Loop and Zuingless Ulrich Loop. James Clement Loop was born February 22, 1825. He married Sarah Wirts on August 29, 1844. She was born October 26, 1829. James and Sarah had ten children, three unnamed daughters...

Joseph Jantzi was born in 1812. His parents were Christian Jantzi and Anne Farny. He lived in Bistroff, Moselle, France. He emigrated in about 1833 and settled in New York. He married Catherine Boshart in 1835. They had seven children. They moved to the Mennonite settlement in Waterloo County, Ontario in about 1839. Joseph died in 1847. Catherine married Christian Riser in about 1850. They had five children. Descendants and relatives lived...

William Heun (1820-1891) married Marie Bock in 1847 in the parish of Lahr, Germany. They emigrated in 1866 with eleven children; six children and the mother died on the voyage. William and the five sons lived in Mineral Point, Wisconsin, then in Shell Creek Station, Nebraska, when the town of Heun was founded. William married Mary B. Iler and had two children. William's brother, John, followed him to Wisconsin in 1869.

Johannes/Hans Kennel was born in 1717 in Munsterhof, Germany. He married Anna Steiner. He died in 1806. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Germany, Ohio and Illinois.

Joseph Oyer (1814-1866) was probably the son of John Oyer from Alsace Lorraine, France. He emigrated to the area now known as Tazewell and Woodford Counties, IL. He married (1) Miss Augsburger? and (2) Magdalena Litwiller?. Nine children were born to the first marriage and six to the second. They settled at Wesley City, IL. Adam Guth [Good] was the son of "Lorentz Guth and his wife Mary Guth who emigrated from Rheinfals, Germany [and] landed at Philadelphia, Pa., on the 19th day of Sept., A. D., 1730. ... [settling] on Jordan Creek ... Adam Guth ... enlisted in the army as a private of the Continental times in November, 1781. ... [He] died sometime between 1840 and 1845 and was buried at Selinsgrove [Pa.] ... His wife died October 15, 1858, at the age of 79 years, 11...

Barnhart Kline married Anna Elisabeth Ludmann Bieber, a widow with six children, in Germany. They had one son, Lorentz, born in 1735. They emigrated in 1741 and settled in Pennsylvania. Lorentz married Catherine Elizabeth Mertz. They had one son, Barnhart (1756-1837), who married Anna Margaretha Ritter (1761-1850). They had ten children. "Michael Eberhart was born 24 Sept. 1790 in...Bietenhausen, Kingdon of Prussia...[he] married Barbara Hinger, also a native of Prussia. [She] was born 17 Nov. 1794...In 1854...Michael and Barbara decided to leave their homeland to sail for the United States...[Michael]...became ill of cholera, and died on board ship. He was buried at sea...The family proceeded to Tuscarawas County, Ohio...and finally went on to Wabash County, Indiana...Barbara died...

Thomas Hurlbut (ca.1610-ca.1671) and his family immigrated from England to Boston, Massachusetts in 1635, and settled at Saybrook, Connecticut. Eugene Frederick Hulbert (b.1913), direct descendant in the tenth generation, married Mary Margaret Renner in 1936, and lived in Lincoln, Nebraska and Fall City, Nebraska. Descendants (many spelling the surname Hulbert or Hurlbert) and relatives of Thomas lived in New England, New York, Wisconsin, Illinois,...

John Kenyon was born 26 April 1655. He married Anna Mumford while still in England. They had the following children: John, Sarah, James, Enoch, Joseph, Samuel, David & Jonathan. The father, John, died in Westerly, Rhode Island in 1732. His wife Anna died before 1712.
