John Hans Lidi (ca.1715-1760) and his family emigrated from Switzerland to Philadelphia in 1744, and settled in York County, Pennsylvania. He anglicized his name to John Leedy. Johan Michael Braun 1724-1785), a lieutenant the Lancaster County militia in the Revolutionary War, emigrated from the Palatine area in 1737 and settled in East Hanover, Lebanon Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He married Anna Julianna Karger in 1746. They had ten children, 1747-1767. Michael is buried in the Bindnagle's Church Cemetery, north of Palmyra, Pennsylvania. The surname was Americanized to Brown.
