Anthony Smith, son of Austin Smith and Margaret Smith, was born in 1752 in West Haven, Connecticut. He married Esther Hodge, daughter of William Hodge and Lucy Smith, in 1774. They had eleven children. He died in 1838 in Waterbury, Connecticut. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Connecticut.
