They later became involved in the Revolutionary War which was a conflict in which neutrality was not a choice and betrayal, rape and murder became routine. The main characters in this history are Anna Dorst, Katy Frietz, and Heinrich Strum.

Consists chiefly of biographical sketches of Seymour individuals who served in the Revolutionary War (chiefly in the military, with some in politics)--arranged alphabetically by given name. The immigrant ancestor was usually Richard Seymour (1596?-1655), who immigrated in 1639 from England to Hartford, Connecticut. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, New York, New Jersey, South Carolina and elsewhere.
