Description
Peter Hileman was born in 1749 in Alsace-Lorraine. His parents immigrated to the United States when he was two years old. His mother died during the voyage and was buried at sea. His father, Chistian Hileman settled in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. Peter moved to Kitanning Township in Armstrong County in 1795 or 1796.

Description
A history of western Pennsylvania along the Allegheny and Kiskiminetas rivers and the present-day counties of Allegheny, Westmoreland, Armstrong, and Butler. The history is told through the family of Edward White's daughter, Massey, who married John Harbison in 1787. They pioneered in western Pennsylvania and raised a family of nine children (after their first two children were killed by Indians). Includes families of Sarver, Seaman, Heckert.
