Description
Approximately every four years, land owners would walk or ride along the boundaries of their land. Surveyors, or processioners, would accompany the owners to determine the legal boundaries and record the description of the boundary markers.

Description
Accomack County was created in 1663 from Northampton County. From approximately 1670-1673, the court was held for the upper part of Northampton County. This area was probably the county of Accomack.

Accomacke County covered the Eastern Shore which included the counties of Accomack and Northampton. Northampton County was established in 1634 under the name Accawmak (spelling varies) and the name was changed in 1643 to Northampton. Accomack County was formed from Northampton in 1663.

Description
This District Court was created in 1789 and covered the counties of Accomack and Northampton. It was held in Accomack County. In 1808 it was abolished and replaced by the Superior Court of Law which covered only the Accomack County. The Superior Court of Law was replaced in 1831 by the Circuit Superior Court of Law and Chancery (also known as the Superior Court of Law and Chancery).
