Description
Accomack County was created in 1663 from Northampton County. From approximately 1670-1673, the court was held for the upper part of Northampton County. This area was probably the county of Accomack.

Description
Even though a volume is given as containing only administrator bonds, it often includes bonds for executors. The same is true for the executor bond books. Both the administrator and the executor bonds should be checked.
The County Court was replaced by the Circuit Court in 1904.

Accomacke County covered the Eastern Shore which included the counties of Accomack and Northampton. Northampton County was established in 1634 under the name Accawmak (spelling varies) and the name was changed in 1643 to Northampton. Accomack County was formed from Northampton in 1663.

This volume continues v. 18 which is entitled Acchawmacke, 1632-1637, which covers Eastern Shore records. The Eastern Shore included the counties of Accomack and Northampton. Northampton County was established in 1634 under the name Accawmak (spelling varies) and the name was changed in 1643 to Northampton. Accomack County was formed from Northampton in 1663.
