Description
No matter what their designation (will book or deed book), these vols. contain deeds, wills, inventories and appraisals, and other related records. .
The deed books for 3 Nov. 1857 to 19 Jun. 1861 were either lost or destroyed. Next book was v. TT which starts with 19 Jan. 1861. Vol. TT ends on p. 66 with 1 Apr 1862, v. 26 covers Sep. 1865-Aug. 1879, then v. TT picks up the dates with p. 67.

Description
The years 1783-1786, 1812, 1820-1850 have one list per year. The years 1787-1820 have two lists for each year since the county was divided into two districts during this period.

Description
The District Court for Fredericksburg District, 1789-1808, covered the counties of Spotsylvania, Caroline, King George, Stafford, Orange, and Culpeper. It was held at Fredericksburg. In 1808, the District Court was replaced by the Superior Court of Law.

Description
The Superior Court of Chancery for Fredericksburg District was established in 1814. The district covered Caroline, Culpeper, Fauquier, Fairfax, Lancaster, Northumberland, Madison, King George, Orange, Prince William, Richmond, Spotsylvania, Stafford, Essex, and Westmoreland counties and the city of Fredericksburg. The court was replaced in 1831 by the Circuit Superior Court of Law and Chancery in Spotsylvania County.
