Description
Augustus Ludwig Dechant served the Old Goshenhoppen Reformed Charge in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, beginning in 1852. He retired in 1890. Some churches he served were: Sassaman's in Douglass Twp. 1855; Boyertown in Berks County, Hilltown, Hubers, Keelors in Upper Frederick Twp., 1854-1855.

"Reverend Augustus Ludwig Dechant apparently began to preach in 1852 as the accompanying record seems to indicate. The congregations for which he preached varied a little at times, but his regular charge consisted of Keelor's, Old Goshenhoppen, Sumneytown and Pennsburg".
