Hendrick Gulick from The Netherlands married Gertruyt Willekens from Hamburg, Germany and immigrate before May 1653 to New Amsterdam. He died in 1653 and his widow married Claes Claeszen Smit in September 1653. Jan and Jochem, Hendrick's children were brought over in 1659 to join the new couple.
