Description
Arnold vanVossen (fl.1700-1725) fled from Aix la Chapelle, France to Germany, and renounced Catholicism to become a Mennonite. In 1700 he immigrated (with a wife and family) to Germantown, Pennsylvania, where he died after 1725. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia, Tennessee, New York, Ohio, Michigan and elsewhere.

The Hobbs family of Maryland and Ohio. The progenitor of this family, John Hobbs (d. 1731) of Elk Ridge Hundred, died in Anne Arundel (now Howard) County, Maryland. His first wife was Susannah. His second wife, Dorothy, later married a Mr. Higgins. Several family members migrated to Ohio.
