Reinier (Reynier) Bastiansen Van Giesen (d. 1707) married Dircktie Cornelese Van Groenland (d. 1698) probably in Utrecht. They came to Long Island about 1630 and later moved to Bergen, New Jersey. He married Hendrickje Janse Buys in 1699.

Dr. Robert H. Browne was born in New York City in 1835. He died in Wichita, Kansas in 1909. After his death, his wife Isabel adopted a daughter, Mary Catherine who married Walter Ross Van Gieson on Nov. 25, 1936 in Wichita, Kansas. Appendix I contains the ancestry of Walter Ross Van Gieson (1906-1979) back to Reinier Bastiansen Van Giesen (b. ca. 1643) who emigrated from Holland in 1658 or 1659 to "New Amsterdam" (New York). Abraham Pierson Ward was born 30 November 1791 in Caldwell, Essex, New Jersey. He married Maria Van Giesen, daughter of Ephraim Van Gieson and Abigail Sigler. They had twelve children. Abraham died 20 February 1843 in Paterson, New Jersey. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Germany, Ireland, New Jersey, New York, Texas and Utah.

Erastus Beethoven Badger (1828- ) married Fanny Babcock Campbell in 1849 at Milton, Massachusetts. Their eleven children were reared in Boston. He was a descendant of Giles Badger, who immigrated (with Richard and Nathaniel Badger) from England about 1639. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, New York, Rhode Island, California, Minnesota and elsewhere.
