Joris Dircksen Brinckerhoff (ca.1604-1661) married Susanna Dubbels in 1628, and emigrated from Holland to Brooklyn, New York in 1640. Descendants (spelling the surname Brinkerhoff or Brinckerhoff) and relatives lived in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin and elsewhere.

Gerrit Hendricksen (1620-1683/1684), probably a son of Hendrick Gerryts and his wife Geertje or Grietje, immigrated in 1637 from Holland to New Amsterdam, New York, and went up river to Rensselaerwick as an employee. By 1646 he was back in New Amsterdam, where he married twice, and was known as Gerrit Hendricksen de blau boer (probably referring to his farm land). Joost DeBaun, a Huguenot, was born about 1642 in France and fled about 1670 to Flanders. He married twice, moved to Middleburg, Holland, and in 1683 immigrated to New Utrecht, New York. By 1704, he was in Hackensack, New Jersey, and he died in 1722.
Descendants reside in Indiana, California, New York and elsewhere.

The Blauvelt surname seems to have been derived from the coat-of-arms of Pieter Blaeuwvelt of Enkhuysen in Holland.
