Joris Dircksen Brinckerhoff (ca.1604-1661) married Susanna Dubbels in 1628, and emigrated from Holland to Brooklyn, New York in 1640. Descendants (spelling the surname Brinkerhoff or Brinckerhoff) and relatives lived in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin and elsewhere.

Jacob Griffin married Ruth Woolsey, served in the Revolutionary War, and had ten children in the last half of the eighteenth century. He was born in Fishkill, New York and died in Westchester County, New York. His wife, Ruth, was descended from George Woolsey (b.1610), immigrant and grandson of Thomas Woolsey, nephew of Cardinal Woolsey. Includes descendants of Jacob and Ruth to the fourth generation.

Oloff Van Cortlandt immigrated from The Netherlands to New Amsterdam, New York in 1638, and married Annetje Lookermanns in 1642. Stephanus Van Cortlandt (1643-1700), their oldest son, married Gertruyd (Geertruj) Schuyler in 1671, became a mayor of New York City, and established Van Cortlandt Manor along the Hudson River in Dutchess (now Westchester) County, New York. Includes some history of the family, and the history of the manor.

His chiefly follows line of descent to Dr. Ozey Robert Broyles of the fifth generation. Ozey Robert Broyles (1798-1875) of "Astabula" Pedleton, South Carolina, married Sarah Ann Taliaferro (1803-1888) in 1823. They had ten children, 1823-1846.
