Gerritsen Cozÿn and his wife, Vrotje Gerretse immigrated from Amsterdam to New Holland prior to 1640, when their son was baptized. They had at least five children. Descendants remained around New York for several generations before scattering elsewhere.

Aucke Janse Van Nuys (d.1694/1698) married Magdalena Pieterse, and in 1651 they immigrated from The Netherlands to New Amsterdam. They later moved to Flatbush, Long Island, New York. Record lists the children, grandchildren and some great grandchildren of Aucke Janse Van Nuys, but traces further the descendants of Isaac Van Nuys (1739-1804), who migrated from New Jersey to Kentucky in 1791. Elijah Hastings Burford (1682-1771) immigrated in 1713 from Burford, Oxford County, England to Amherst County, Virginia, and married Mary Jane Hastings in 1725. Daniel James Burford (b.1684) immigrated in 1713 with his first cousin, Elijah Hastings Burford, and married Martha Jane Morley in 1719. William W. Avery was born in Tenterden, Kent, England and was christened 28 April 1821. His parents were William Avery and Hannah Weeks. He emigrated in the 1830s and settled in New York. He married Susannah Gilbert, daughter of Samuel Gilbert and Mary Smith 21 June 1840. They had eight children. William died in 1894. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in New York, Minnesota and California.

Symon Jansen Van Arsdalen (b.1629) immigrated from The Netherlands to New Amsterday (New York) in 1653, and married Pierterje Claesen van Schouw between 1658 and 1660. He died after 1686. Descendants lived in New York, Kentucky, Indiana, Kansas and elsewhere.
