Abraham Kieffer Jr., a Huguenot, and his family immigrated from the Palatinate of the Alsace-Lorraine area to Philadelphia in 1748. Descendants (chiefly spelling the surname Keefer) and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois and elsewhere.

John Viets (1826-1910) moved from New York to Ohio and then to Monroe County, Michigan, and married Mary Ann Phelps in 1847. He served in the Union forces during the Civil War. Descendants lived in Michigan, Missouri, Kansas, Idaho and elsewhere. Ancestors lived chiefly in New England, New York and Pennsylvania.

Levi Piggott, son of James Piggott and Elliner, was born in about 1762 in Connecticut. He married Eleanor Rebecca in about 1790. They had six children. He died in 1835 in Ridge Prairie, Illinois. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Illinois, Ohio, South Dakota and California.

William Veale received the manor of Lanilsy from Charles Trevanion, who died in 1601. The Veale family held it from 1647 to 1867. The "MSS" is an inventory of the property bequeathed by the will of the late Reverend William Veale ... to be held as heirlooms with his Mansion House at Trevayler.
