Michael Jansen Vreeland (b. 1610) emigrated from Scrabbekerk, Zeeland, Netherlands, with his wife, Fitje (Sophia) Hartman, and son, Class, and arrived at Manhattan in 1638. They settled at Fort Orange (Albany). In 1646, the family migrated to Communipaw [New Jersey]. They were the parents of seven more children born in America. Descendants listed lived in New Jersey, New York, and elsewhere.

Jan Cornelise Van der Hoeven (Vanderhoof) was born ca. 1648 in the Netherlands. He was the son of Cornelis Van der Hoeven and Geertje Van Fulpen. Jan immigrated to the United States and married Dorothea Jans sometime prior to the year 1683. They were the parents of nine known children. Jan died sometime after the year 1705. Descendants lived primarily in New York, New Jersey, Washington and elsewhere.

David Vandenbark (ca. 1757-1828) married Susannah Conine (1764-1846), daughter of Jacob and Mary Clover Conine, ca. 1795 in Morris County, New Jersey. They had four sons and a daughter, 1796-1807. David Vandenbark migrated to Muskingum County, Ohio, in 1800 and brought his family there in 1801. Descendants lived in Ohio, Indiana, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, California, and elsewhere.

Description
The Van Winkle ancestor, Jacob Waligh or Walingen, immigrated to New Amsterdam in 1635 from "Winkle." He married Trintje Jacobs, and in 1654 moved to Pavonia (now Jersey City, New Jersey). He died in 1657.
