Hugh and Ash Emison, brothers of Scottish lineage, emigrated from Ireland to Jamestown (now extinct) in Cecil County, Maryland. They were probably accompanied by an elder brother, James Emerson. James settled near Philadelphia and later moved to Bucks County, Pennsylvania and then to Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Both Hugh and Ash Emison served in the Revolutionary War, and later moved from Cumberland County to Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Still...

Description
Hugh Emison was born in 1744, and emigrated (with his brother, Ash) from Ireland to Jamestown, Virginia in 1761/1762. They settled in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, and later moved to Scott County, Kentucky. Hugh married twice and died in 1825. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, South Carolina, Georgia and elsewhere.
