Johann (Hans) Adam Walborn was born about 1665 in Germany. In order to improve the family's situation in 1710 they came to the United States . They went to up state New York and then to Pennsylvania with his descendants moving further west. His children and grandchildren married into the Feg, Risch, and Batdorf families who came to America at the same time as the Walborns did.

Henry Rheyer (1721-1766) was the son of Sebastian and Agnes Rheyer of Hassloch, Germany. He married Catherine. He was the grandson of Hans Georg Rheyer (d.1719) born near Metz, Lorraine, France. A short time after the Edict of Nantes was revoked in 1685, Hans fled to Bohl, the Pfalz, Germany. Johannes Jacob Peter Batdor came from a long line of Swiss teachers and religious leaders. To avoid persecution his family left Switzerland and went first to Germany and then on to England where they sailed to America in 1710. His descendants gradually moved west into Pennsylvania, then Ohio, and finally into Iowa where they still reside.

Johannes Jacob Peter Batdorf was born about 1671 in Baden, Darmstadt, Germany and died 1709 in London, England. He married Anna Maria Catharina Herber before 1692 in Switzerland or Germany. She was born 1677 in Germany and died 14 January 1749 in Milbach, Lebanon, Pennsylvania. They had three children. Descendants have lived mainly in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Washington D.C., New Jersey, Maryland and New York.
