It is unclear when he immigrated to America, but when he did so, it is possible that he came with his parents Thomas Callahan and Mary Scantland. He settled in Atlanta Georgia, where he married Della Roberts. He married (2) Sarah R. Wiley. Descendants lived in Indiana, Kentucky, Florida, Iowa, Utah, and elsewhere.

William Holbrook (d. ca. 1626) of Glastonbury, Sommersetshire, England, and his wife, Edith, had seven children, ca. 1587-ca. 1602. Henry Goding was master of the British ship "Abigail" which visited Massachusetts Bay in 1628. His son, William Goding, was an apprentice in 1640, to Comfort Starr, of Cambridge and Duxbury, Massachusetts, but later returned to Middlesex County where he died.
