James Bishop (ca. 1625-1691) emigrated from Surrey or Kent County, England, settled first in Massachusetts, and eventually settled at New Haven, Connecticut. Most volumes contain a different Bishop immigrant (as listed in the contents note below), and as many of his descendants and relatives as possible. Samuel Webber was born in 1760 in Massachusetts. He entered Harvard in 1780 as a student and spent the next 30 years allied with the school as teacher, student, and then university president. In 1789 he married Rebecca Smith and they had seven children. From 1806 til his death in 1810 he served as president of Harvard University. This biography deals with his accomplishments and descendants.

Thomas Webber was born 17 May 1629 in Bideford, Devon, England. His parents were Thomas Webber and Phillipa. He married Mary Parker, daughter of John Parker and Mary, in about 1656. They had six known children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Maine, Massachusetts and New York.

William Wadsworth (1595-1675) immigrated from Braintree, Essex Co., England to Cambridge, Massachusetts, and later moved to Hartford, Connecticut. He married twice. Descendants lived in the New England states, the midwest and elsewhere.

Michael Knight Brignell (1783-1850) was born in England and arrived in Australia in 1819. He married Rebecca Newell in 1807 in Southwark, London, England. His second and third wives were Rachel Newell and Mary Collins. Descendants lived in Australia, New Zealand, and elsewhere.

Duncan Brewer, son of Anson Brewer, was born in 1868 In Stone Ridge, New Brunswick. He married Ella Gertrude Kitchen (1877-1947), daughter of Charlie Kitchen and Eliza Donley, in 1899. They had five children. He died in 1945. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Germany, Holland, New York and New Brunswick.

Thomas Brooks (d.1667) immigrated from England to Massachusetts in 1635, and moved during or before 1640 to Kittery, Maine, settling in York, Maine in 1641. Descendants lived in New England and elsewhere.
