Rucker (Rudiger) von Weisel (b. ca. 1182) was the first holder of the Fife of Weisel. Record chiefly follows line of descent to the immigrant, George Michael Weisel (ca. 1693-1770) of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and to his grandson, Daniel Weisel (1765-1825) of Williamsport, Maryland, and his family.

Jacob Lake Garland was born 18 February 1859 in Belfast Township, Fulton County, Pennsylvania. His parents were Abraham Garland and Rhoda Lake. He married Clara May Deshong, daughter of Joseph Deshong and Harriet Lohr, 18 June 1888. They had eight children. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and Maryland.

Jacob Dein (1843-1929) and his wife Wilhelmina Lambart, were born in Germany and immigrated to Jefferson County, Nebraska in 1866. Many of their friends and relatives from Germany joined them there. Descendants live in Ohio, Texas, Nebraska, and elsewhere.
There are 72 unnumbered pages of pedigree charts and family group sheets located at the end of the book.
