George Balser Hess (1747-1806) was a son of Casper and Maria Eva Hess, and after his father's early death, became an apprentice to Michael Leatherman. He moved from York County, Pennsylvania to join a sister in Maryland, and served in the Revolutionary War. He married Mary Eve Hensel in 1782, and settled in Bedford, Pennsylvania, moving in 1798 to Hopetown, Ohio. William Murray (1785-1856) married Mary Boles (Boyle) and moved from Pennsylvania to Ohio in 1813, to Wayne County, Indiana in 1826, and to Henry County, Indiana in 1837. Descendants lived in Indiana, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and elsewhere. Includes some German and Scottish ancestors.

Philip Englar was born 30 December 1736 in Appenzell, Switzerland. He emigrated in 1748 and settled in Chester County, Pennsylvania. He married Margaret Holverstot (1742-1819) in about 1764 and they settled in Maryland. They had nine children. He died in 1817 in Pipe Creek, Maryland. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Maryland.

William Ballenger was born in about 1757 in Virginia. He enlisted in the Continental Army in 1777. He married Elizabeth Bartley, daughter of John Bartley and Ann Settle in about 1782. They had eight children. He married Anna Sharp, daughter of Robert Sharp and Martha, in 1804. They had four children. He married Polly Godfrey in 1824 in Wayne County, Indiana. He died in 1825. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Indiana.
