Ichabod Whidden immigrated from Portsmouth, England to Portsmouth, New Hampshire, ca. 1662. His descendant, Rendol Whidden (1790- 1887), was born in Newmarket, New Hampshire and later moved to Maine. Robert Hendry (1752-1830), son of John Hendry, immigrated from the island of Arran, Scotland to New Hanover (now Pender) County, North Carolina, married Ann Lee in 1778, served in the Revolutionary War, and moved about 1796 to Liberty County, Georgia. Samuel Haines (1611-ca. 1686) immigrated from Westbury, Wiltshire, England to Maine in 1635. The landing in Maine was due to a shipwreck, and he later settled at Dover, Massachusetts. He later moved to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He returned for a visit to England where he married Ellenor Neate 1 April 1638 in Dilton, Wiltshire, near Westbury. They had three chown children.
