Thomas Wickersham, a Quaker and a farmer at Bolney, Sussex, England, married Ann Grover, daughter of John Grover, at the Friend's Meeting Hurstperpoint, Sussex, in 1685. They had four children. Francis Swayne was a son of William Swayne, of Ockingham, Bienfield, Berkshire, England. He and his wife, Elizabeth Milton, had seven children, 1689-1702, born Berkshire, England. Francis and Elizabeth Swayne became Quakers in 1704. The family immigrated to America in 1710 and settled in East Marlborough Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. Nicholas de la Plaine emigrated from France and settled in New Amsterdam about 1657. He married Susanna Cresson, daughter of Pierre and Rachel Cloos Cresson, in Sept. 1658. They had nine children baptized in the Dutch Reformed Church between 1662 and 1681. Descendants lived in New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware and elsewhere.

George Barkhurst (or Barcus) was born 1 May 1776 in Kent Co., Delaware. He was the son of William Barcus and Frances Burrows. George married Tamzen (surname unknown) prior to 1797. Tamzen died in 1828 and George married Rachael Richardson 25 June 1829 in Dearborn Co., Indiana. He was the father of at least ten known children and died 25 March 1855 in Lauramie Township, Indiana. Descendants lived primarily in Indiana, Kansas and elsewhere.

John Ladd arrived in Virginia 7 October 1653 and settled in Charles City County. He married Bathsheba Lovett, daughter of Lancaster Lovett and Ann. Bathsheba died in about 1673. John then married Mary. He had six known children. He died in about 1679. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio and Indiana.

He married Marie Assmann (1863-1936), daughter of Johann Assmann (1818-1883) and Auguste W. Braun (1831-1907), 31 October 1884 in Caroline, Wisconsin. They had twelve children.
