Family of John Wendel Weigele (Wigle), who was born 1753 in Germany. He left his homeland for the German settlements in Pennsylvania where he met and married Julianna Romer in 1776 in the town of Little York. They were parents of eleven children. Family migrated from Pennsylvania first to Michigan and by 1792 they were in Essex County, Ontario, where John Wendel Wigle was granted land. John Wendel Weigele was born in 1753 near Frankfurt, Germany. In about 1767 he emigrated and settled in New York. He married Julianna Romer in 1776 in Little York, Pennsylvania. They had eleven children. They moved to Michigan and then to Essex, Ontario, Canada.

David Tafelmeyer was born in 1639 in Oberlenningen, Germany. He married Anna Maria Bauer in 1664. They had fourteen children. Their grandson, Johannes, son of Andreas (1673-1739), was born 15 June 1709. He emigrated in 1732 and settled in Pennsylvania. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Iowa and Michigan.
