Gearld Vuhr Craig, son of Claude Leolis Craig (1886-1961) and Goldie Opal Buskirk (1896-1962), married Dorothy Olive Cary, daughter of Ralph Orion Cary (1893-1974) and Hazel Belle Windle (1896-1968) in Kirkville, Missouri. Includes sketches of their grandmothers for several generations. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa. Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and New York.

Contains histories on selected ancestors of Patricia A. Craig Johnson. Patricia was born in 1935 in Iowa to Gerald V. Craig and Dorothy O. Cary. Covers ancestors on both lines. The Craig line contains biographical sketches back to David Craig (1813-1902) of Kentucky and Missouri, and his wife, Abigail Campbell (1815-1874). The Cary line is traced back to John Cary (1610-1681) of England and Massachusetts, and his wife, Elizabeth Godfrey (1613-1680)....

Peter von Sieg (b.ca.1685/1690) and his family emigrated from Germany to New York City. Descendants used the surname of Sieg, and lived in New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, New Mexico, Arizona, California and elsewhere.

John Bushong (1732-1808) married Elizabeth Sprinkle (Sprenckel?) in 1753 and moved from York County, Pennsylvania to Shenandoah County, Virginia. John Jacob Bushong (1754-1830), their first child, served in the Revolutionary War, married Eva Catherine Bossert in 1784, and moved about 1807 to Columbiana County, Ohio. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and elsewhere.

Milica Hoffer (b.1813) married Abigail Adams in 1848, and lived in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. Four of his sons (Samuel, William, John and Henry) moved to Lawrence County, Ohio, and then to Scioto County, Ohio. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas, Florida and elsewhere.

Samuel Layton was born in Monmouth County, New Jersey, in 1794. He married Hannah Pilgrim in 1816. They had three children. He married Nancy in about 1830. They had three children. He married Mahala Windle in 1854 in Portland, Oregon. They also had three children. He died in 1881 in Eden Prairie, Washington.

John Thatcher and Elizabeth (Inman), widow of Daniel Hill, lived at Beaver Falls, Beaver Co., Pennsylvania from about 1802 to about 1827. Later, they lived in Newton Twp., Trumbull Co., Ohio, from 1827 to 1850. A son Bartholomew (1804-1881) married Dorcas Windle and later lived in Iowa. Another son, Benjamin (1806-1864) married Sarah Winans. A daughter, Rebecca (1808-1884) married James Torrence and lived near Decatur, Illinois when she died. Several...

Richard Jackson, a Quaker, was born at Eccleson, Lancashire, England, and migrated to Ireland in 1648. He married Margaret Keete at Carrickfergus, County of Antrim, in 1650. They had four children, 1651-1659. He died in 1679 at Mountmellick, in the parish of Rosenallis and Queen's County, Ireland. Anthony Jackson, brother of Richard Jackson, was born in Lancashire, England and immigrated to Ireland in 1649. His son, Isaac Jackson, was born in 1665....
