Jesse Logan Winter, son of David Winter and Sarah Elizabeth, was born March 10, 1840. He married Louisa Jane James. He died April 29, 1924. Descendants and relatives lived in Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, California and elsewhere.

Peter Winter was a Hessian soldier in the Revolutionary War in 1777. He deserted in New Jersey where he became a blacksmith and lived with Margaret Hains and her two children. They moved to Northampton County, Pennsylvania by 1785.
