Roberta Perdue was born in 1920 in Iowa. She married Maurice James Maxwell in 1940 and they have two children. James Ross Winters was born 27 July 1827 in Cumberland County, Illinois. He married Sarah Jane Lee (1833-1894) and they settled in Labette County, Kansas.

Thomas Winters married 1778 Mary Jones. They resided at Mt. Pleasant, Unity Twp., Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. They had a son, John, born 1780, and a daughter Susanna, born 1782 in Westmoreland County. Ancestors came originally from England to Pennsylvania. Later generations moved to Athens, Vinton and Jackson Counties of Ohio, etc.

Anna Hopper and John W. Winters lived in home from 1889 to 1955. Their daughter and her husband, Mary E. Winters and Chester A. Smeltzer lived in the home from 1940 to 1970. In turn, their daughter and her husband lived in the home from 1971 onward.

Robert Burdick (1635-1692) was born in Devonshire, England. He was the first Burdick who immigranted to America in the mid-1600's. He lived in Rhode Island and married Ruth Hubbard in 1655. Descendants live all over the United States. This book also provides some general historical information of all Burdicks.
