Johanes Weesner (1676-1744) married Elizabeth Dumbaugh in 1697 in Switzerland. They had five children. He came to America with troops of Queen Anne's Swiss contigent. The family settled in Orange County, New York, in 1714. Descendants listed, chiefly descendants of his sons, Hendrick Wisner (1698-1767) and Adam Wisner (b. 1714), lived in New York, Michigan, Virginia, Iowa, Maryland, and elsewhere.

Isaac Elbert Brush was born 30 August 1803, probably in New York. His parents were Isaac Brush (1779-1854) and Charity Arthur (1776-1848). He married Delia Williams Phillips (1808-1876), daughter of Henry Wisner Phillips and Deborah Eliza Williams, 2 May 1827. They had nine children. He died in 1893 in Cleveland, Ohio. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in England, New York, Massachusetts and Ohio.
