William Womack (b.ca.1605/1610), probably a Quaker, immigrated from England to Henrico County, Virginia, and married widow Mary Jane Allen. Their first son was born in 1644. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, California, Washington and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated to Alberta and elsewhere in Canada.

Descendants of Joseph Ryan who is presumed to have been born 1778 or 1787 in Virginia or North Carolina. He married Martha Holt, daughter of Drury and Elizabeth Rogers Holt. Martha died between 1850 and 1858, when Joseph remarried giving his age as 72.
