John Wooten Sr. (ca.1725-1799?) married twice, and moved from Edgecombe County to Pitt County, North Carolina. By the time of his death, all but one of his sons had left him, five moving to other counties. Descendants and relatives lived in North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi and elsewhere.

Evan Ragland (1656-1717) immigrated about 1670 from England to New Kent County, Virginia. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Illinois, Nebraska, Missouri and elsewhere. Johann Adam Henning was born in about 1759 in Hesse, Germany. He was a Hessian rifleman in the Revolutionary War with Cornwallis' army. He deserted in 1781 and settled in North Carolina. Charles Wooton (1770/1773-1860/1870) moved from Virginia to North Carolina (probably Onslow County), and married Sarah Davis about 1790. They moved to Wooton, Clay County, Kentucky in 1807. He later left Sarah, moved "north" and west eventually to Wilson County, Kansas, and had another wife, Fannie Smith (9 children by Sarah and 11 by Fannie). Descendants and relatives lived in North Carolina, Kentucky, Missouri, Kansas and elsewhere.
