Richard Henderson (1710-1785) was born in hanover County, Virginia. He married Elizabeth Branson and moved with her family to Orange County, North Carolina. While there, he became a Quaker. He eventually settled in South Carolina. Richard and Elizabeth were the parents of twelve children. Descendants lived in North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama and other parts of the United States.

Gersham Tussey was born 15 February 1801 in the Jersey Settlement of Rowan Co., (now Davidson Co.) North Carolina. He was the son of John Tussey and Elizabeth Hunt. Gersham married Sarah Byerly ca. 1823. She died ca. 1836 and Gersham married Katharine Lopp Wagner 15 June 1837. Gersham lived in North Carolina and became the father of ten known children. Walter Newman came to New Jersey in 1683-4 as an indentured servant from Ireland. After he completed his four year indenture he married Mary Newman. They had fourteen children. Among their descendants is John Newman and Polly Martin, who married on 30 May 1801. Descendants live in Texas, Alabama, Virginia, California, Washington, and elsewhere.

John Newman and Polly Martin married on 30 May 1801 in Crawford County, Georgia. Their son Martin Newman (born in 1802) married Flora Ann Willis, from Richmond County, Georgia on 23 January 1823. That summer they moved to Alabama and began a large family. Later they moved to Texas. Descendants live in Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Virginia, California, Oregon, and elsewhere.
