John G. Yost, son of Henry Yost and Catherine Bott, was born in 1845 in Norka, Russia. He married Christina Schwindt (1849-1927), daughter of Nicholas Schwindt and Anna Kathrina Kaser, in 1869. They had ten children. They emigrated in 1878 and settled in Sutton, Nebraska. He died in 1935 in Harvard, Nebraska.

Christopher Weist (1800-1872), a son of Christoph Wust and Katherina Mayer, was born in Germany. He married Magdalena Schrote (1799- 1884), a daughter of Matthias Schrote and Maria Diebold, in 1822.
