Peter Sandau (1801-1856) left the village of Pjaske, Poland for Katzbach, Bessarabia, Southern Russia in 1816. His grandson, Conrad Sandau (1869-1932) was born in Michaelsfeld, Russia and immigrated to the U.S. where he died in Pingree, Idaho. Includes information on other Sandau families. Andreas Hetterle (1781-1846) immigrated to South Russia from the Unkenbach area of Meisenheim District of Rheinland Pfalz, Germany. He died in Klöstitz, (Romania)....

Peter Sandau (1801-1856) was born in Poland and later settled in Katzbach, South Russia. His son, Jakob married Dorothea Zeller and later settled in Michaelsfeld. Some of Jakob's children and relatives came to the U.S. settling in Colorado, Idaho, and elsewhere.
