Michael Miller was born in Switzerland in 1692. He lived in Germany before immigrating to the United States about 1727 and settled in Maryland. He married twice to Susanna Bechtol and later to a widow, Elizabeth Garber. He had 12 children and later added 4 step children. Information on many lines of his descendants is included in this volume. Descendants now live throughout the United States.

Hans Johann "Michael" Miller (1692-1771), who had lived in Switzerland and Germany, came to America with his step brother, Jacob Stutsman II, on the ship "Adventurer" in 1727. They lived in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and in Washington County, Maryland. Michael was married to Susanna Agnes Berchtol (Bechtel), born in 1688. George Klein, Sr. (1715-1785), was born in Zweibruken, Bavaria and came to Philadelphia in 1738. They settled at Amwell, New Jersey. He married Dorothy Rebman. The family later moved to Bernville, Pennsylvania. His son, George Jr. (1740-1795), moved to Broadway, Virginia in 1780. Descendants lived in Virginia, Ohio, and elsewhere.

Johannes Garber Sr. (ca. 1732-1787) married Barbara Miller, daughter of Michael Miller and Susanna Agness Berchtol, ca. 1752. They lived in York County, Pennsylvania and then moved to Frederick County, Maryland in 1768. In 1775 they moved to Flat Rock, Virginia. Early descendants lived in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky and later spread throughout the U.S.

Adam Miller was born in 1703 in Labensheim, Germany. His parents were Johann Peter Mueller and Maria Margaretha Ulrich. He emigrated in 1724 and settled in Massanutten, Page County, Virginia. He married Anna Barbara Koger (1716-1794), daughter of Josias Koger and Ann Lowen. They had four children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, Missouri, Iowa and Louisiana.

All the Eibs in this country are related. The different branches in this book go back to Wurttemberg Province, Germany in the early 1500s. The earliest known ancestor, Andreas I Eyb, was born 1536 in Waiblingen, and married Anna Volz in Calw ca. 1553. He was a town pastor in Schorndorf from 1574 to 1590. The Eib family members live in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Kansas, Virginia, Iowa, Tennessee and elsewhere.

Johann Andreas emigrated in 1742 from the Palatinate of Germany to Philadelphia, and then returned to Germany to marry Catherina Rosina Kolb in 1751. Joseph Glick was born 1 September 1799 near Hudson's Crossroads, Shenandoah County, Virginia, to Elder John and Elizabeth Bauserman Glick. Joseph and his wife Susan Wampler appear to have been married by the year 1826. In 1857 the Glick's moved near Mound City, Holt County, Missouri.
