Christian Bohnsack (1819-1892) was born in Germany. He married Karoline Loock (1819-1848) in about 1840. They had six children. They emigrated in about 1847 and settled in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Missouri and Kansas.

Andrew Carl Small (1889-1982) was the son of William Amos Small (1867- 1971) and Henrietta Delila Hinson (1869-1958) of Mecklenburg County, N.C. He married Lessie Mable Smith (1888-1978) in 1911. They raised eight children, of which the author is the fourth child. Five generations of ancestors are given. Descendants live in North and South Carolina.

John Pettit married Mary Hallett, the granddaughter of William Hallett (Hallett was an immigrant from England to Greenwich, Connecticut, who later moved to Newtown, Long Island). William Pettit, Sr. (1726- 1801), son of John and Mary, married twice and moved from New York to Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Descendants of John and Mary lived in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missouri, Minnesota, Oregon and elsewhere.

George Edward Barlow (1888-1962) of Preston, Idaho was the son of George Thomas and Sarah Coop Barlow. The Barlows originally came from the vicinity of Manchester, Lancashire, England. George Thomas' grandfather, Edward (1801-1877) and father, Thomas (1823-1896) joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and immigrated to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and then Utah.

John Baptist Buckman (1730-1793), was born in St. Mary's Co., Maryland, the son of John Baptist Buckman and Susanne Smith. He married Ann Drinker.
