Harmon Runnels (also spelled Reynolds) was born ca. 1759. In 1779 he married Hester Hubert in North Carolina and they had eight children. In 1790 they moved to Georgia. They later moved to Mississippi where he died in 1839. One of his sons, Hiram George Runnels (1796-1857), became governor of Mississippi in 1833. Descendants lived in Mississippi, Georgia, Texas, and elsewhere.
