Susanna White-Winslow was born probably about 1592 at Scrooby, Nottinghamshire, England. She married (1) William White, probably around 1614 in Amsterdam. They had two children: Resolved and Peregrine White. She married (2) Edward Winslow on 12 May 1621 at Plymouth (the first marriage at Plymouth). Edward Winslow was born in 1595. He was the eldest son of Edward Winslow (Sr.) of Droitwich, Worcestershire, England and Magdalene Oliver. He married.Elizabeth Barker (d, 1621) after May 12, 1618 in Leiden Holland. They emigrated in the Mayflower in 1620. He married 2.Susanna White, widow of William White, on May 12, 1621 in Plymouth Colony. They had five children. He died in 1655 near Jamica.

The first Winslow in America was Edward Winslow (1598-1655) who arrived on the Mayflower in 1620. He served for a time as governor of the newly founded colony and acted as ambassador for the small Plymouth colony. He later was influential in the Cromwell government in England traveling several times between America and England.
