John B. Dillon was born in 1808 in Wellsburg, Brooke County, West Virginia. He came to Indiana in 1834 and served as state librarian and secretary of state. He died Feb. 27, 1879 in Indianapolis.

Charles Osborn, a Quaker abolitionist, was born Aug. 21, 1775 in North Carolina. He preached in Tennessee, Ohio, and Indiana. He died in 1850.

Description
Ziba Foote was born July 4, 1785 in Newtown, Conn. He graduated from Yale in 1805 and surveyed in Indiana until he drowned in Gibson County on April 30, 1806.
Samuel Morrison was born March 1, 1798 in Aurora Indiana. He married Betsy Dorsey. He was the surveyor that drew the first map of Indiana that was published. He died March 1, 1888.

Record of voyage by water, from central New York to central Indiana, in 1817 to secure land for the Indians.
Thomas Dean, born in Westchester County, New York in 1783, was the attorney and agent to the Brotherton Indians. He acted also for the Stockbridge and Oneida tribes. He was a Quaker, with a wife and five children. He died in Deansboro, New York in 1843.
