Adolf Henry Mauksch was born 8 August 1834 in Libau, Prussia, son of Adolf and Hulda Mauksch. He married Marie Emilie Riemer 3 April 1866 in St. James, Cedar County, Nebraska. He and Marie had six children, four boys and two girls, all born in South Dakota. Adolf died in Yankton County, South Dakota 13 March 1907. He was followed by Marie who died 6 September 1922 in Yankton County. Descendants are located in South Dakota, Illinois and elsewhere.
