Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Magny (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from Alsace-Lorraine, Austria, Belgium, England, France, Germany (especially Paltz or the Palatinate), Greece, Holland, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Russia, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland, and Syria. Some were French Huguenots who fled to America beginning in the late 1600's. Some settled in Quebec (Canada), Jamaica (West Indies), and in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, and Rhode Island, and Tennessee in the 1600's-1700's. During the 1800's, some settled in Ontario (Canada), Mexico, and in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Washington D.C., West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Later families also lived in Germany, and in Alaska, Arizona, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Wyoming, and elsewhere. Some have African American bloodlines. Some may have American Indian bloodlines. Birth, burial, marriage, death, and other information was extracted from National cemetery records, Social Security Death Index, court records, military records, postal records, shared histories and research, tax records, and from other sources.

Issuing Body
The Magny Families Association was founded in 1979, with its headquarters in Newburg, New York. In 1980, the Magny Families Association became affilitated with the Huguenot Historical Society which was founded in 1894, in New Paltz, New York. The Huguenot Historical Society helped publish the Magny Families Association newsletter. More information is found on their web sites.
